On Saturday the 23rd of March a demonstration was held in Amsterdam under the name 'Geen vluchteling op straat of in de cel'.
The demonstration left from the Vluchtkerk and proceded to Museumplein crossing through a large part of the Amsterdam city centre. At the end destination, Museumplein, several speakers voiced their demands for a more humane asylum policy and for an immediate end to sending asylum seekers out on the streets of the Netherlands.
The demonstration organizers estimate that around 2000 people took part in the demonstration.

In the AZC Utrecht an Iragi refugee, Ahmed, has put himself on fire on the 4th of March at 9:20 am. The fire brigade arrived ot the location and the man was taken to the hospital. His room in the AZC was destroyed by the fire.
Ahmed's asylum process has been closed and he has been informed by the DT&V (Dienst terugkeer en vertrek) that he has to return back to Iraq. The situation of Ahmed is still unknown.
As a response to this event, a group of refugees and their supporters held a demonstration in Utrecht on the 5th of March. The demonstration proceeded from the AZC Utrecht towards the town centre, stopping infront of the IND (immigratie en naturalisetia dienst).
